Graduate Programs in Vertebrate Paleontology

This list of links is intended to help locate graduate programs with a focus in vertebrate paleontology. It is not intended to be exhaustive, although a significant effort has been made to ensure that as many programs as possible are listed. The programs are organized by country, province, and state.

New Programs

Department of Geosciences, University of Nebraska, Lincoln

The Department of Geosciences at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, is revitalizing its program in vertebrate paleontology. We are accepting applications for M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with an emphasis on vertebrate paleontology. The Nebraska State Museum houses a world class collection of Neogene mammals, and also has significant holdings of Paleozoic fishes, Mesozoic marine reptiles, and Cenozoic lower vertebrates. Projects involving Paleogene mammals, and paleoecology and paleoclimatology using stable isotopes are also possible. Interested students are encouraged to contact Dr. Ross Secord. Graduate assistantships are available for qualified students. For more information about the graduate program students can contact Dr. Robert Oglesby. The application deadline for financial support is January 15.
